MaxDin CAN System Latest Update (For units received PRIOR to approximately July 2024)

This is a CAN System update for all units RECEIVED by the customer, prior to July 2024.  All units shipped around or after this date, are current.

STEP 1 - How to determine your CAN version?

With your unit powered on, swipe to the widget screen where you see all the applications.  Hit the gear icon and you'll see an upper menu (general, audio, video, system, etc).  Go to system then look down that menu for "software version".  That screen will then indicate a CANVersion.  Your CAN version should end in 7xx (705 or higher).  For example, this update will get your to the CAN version below.  240705 (meaning 2024, July 05).  If you have 2306xx etc, or 2406xx, update now to 240705 version.

STEP 2 - If you've determined you need to update, here is what the update will change.

1. HVAC vent position and accuracy update - eliminated windshield leakage when in dash mode
2.  RAP features - allows the unit to stay powered on once engine is stopped, but door isn't opened
3.  Bose system optimization - enhance middle and low frequency response (phase 1 improvements)
4.  Steering Wheel Update - Left side steering wheel buttons for cars equipped, now functions.

STEP 3 - Follow the video below if you need help understanding what to do.  Quick hints and helpful points to avoid problems:

1.  Use a clear USB drive in Fat32 format
2.  When downloading the update BE POSITIVE the name doesn't change from simplecanupdate.bin.  Some computers will change it.  If previous versions exist on your computer, the file will be renamed simplecanupdate (2).bin, etc and it WILL NOT WORK.  DELETE ALL PRIOR VERSIONS on your computer and drive
3.  Download from the link using "direct download"
4.  Connect USB to MaxDin unit while unit is powered on
5.  Go to Settings>System>Upgrade>Simple Upgrade
6.  A red bar will show the update loading
7.  Check software version screen afterwards, to confirm update
